The aircraft completed 25 missions by 20 February 1944. On a subsequent mission, another crew diverted the aircraft to Sweden, where the crew and aircraft were interned. After the war, the B-17 was refurbished in Switzerland and used for an early commercial transatlantic flight, landing at LaGuardia Airport.
